Gallery exhibition space
BCA Gallery has an open plan exhibition area comprising of a large long room at the front and a smaller room towards the back with ramped access. It is a light and airy space with plenty of natural light emanating from the windows of the facade, as well as a specialised lighting setup to eliminate shadows and reflections on the artworks.
Guide dogs are welcome throughout the building. The entire ground floor is accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Gallery facilities
Each exhibition features a small screen with headphones for visitors to hear an interview with the current artist.
BCA Gallery keeps a range of contemporary art and photography magazines and books, as well as relevant exhibition catalogues. Please use the comfortable seats provided and browse through these publications during your visit.
A drinks machine is provided for visitors to help themselves to a warm beverage of their choice (requires a small fee per cup).
Family Friendly Resource Area
BCA Gallery welcomes children and families. Each exhibition is accompanied by an exciting array of activities specifically for our younger visitors. These range from dressing up costumes, drawing materials, activity sheets or storybooks.
(Children should be accompanied at all times by an adult)
