Joanna Clark is a local photographer and one of the nine artists selected to participate in BCA's Residency Programme. Much of Joanna's residency focused on the preparation of a photographic installation comprising of over 50 quiet yet evocative images, combining familiar local landscapes with portraiture, presented in both colour and black and white.
The residency also enabled Joanna to further explore her use of film, being encouraged to take her video camera on her bike rides, in the same way that she would use her camera.
Some visitors found the mixture of formats and unorthodox presentation different to anything that they had experienced before. One group of students from Ridgeway School were so struck by the installation, they recreated their own version in their classroom.
