Nine Artistic Talents Recruited for BCA Gallery Artist Residency Programme
BCA Gallery is excited to announce the names of nine artists who have been selected to participate in its newly founded residency programme. Joanna Clark, Faye Claridge, Lorrice Douglas, Jane Edden, Alistair Gentry, Aaron Head, Jordi Lafon, Suzanne Mooney and Alex Pearl will each work with BCA Gallery for a period of approximately three months to develop new work that will engage audiences in their practice.
Over the last three years BCA Gallery has gained a positive national reputation amongst artists and audiences alike for its challenging exhibition programme, promotion of visual art and commitment to nurturing and developing creative talents. The nine successful residency candidates fought off competition from over 120 other artists, also keen to be considered for the opportunity.
The residency programme, which has received generous funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and Arts Council England, East began in 2007 and will run until Spring 2009. Laura Pottinger, Director of BCA said; "We are thrilled to be working with nine such fantastic artists who share our desire to encourage wider public participation in the visual arts. Not only will these artists produce innovative new work, they will also play an integral role in shaping the future direction of our constantly evolving organisation - that is BCA."
