#5: Artist as Brand: Mark Brereton
The Artist as Brand workshop explores individual routes of brand and identity that an artist may or may not be aware of in their practice. It guides the artist through a unique and practical cognitive mapping process and stops along the way to identify the individual points you wish to develop or focus on further. This exciting and refreshing session looks at how we see ourselves, how others see us and how we wish to identify what we do in a creative and thought provoking way. Expect a useful and focused mix of planning, self-awareness and professional development.
Mark Brereton’s work is concerned with community and communication and identity of space, place, person and location. He creates work and projects fusing design, typography, the spoken word and various found and bespoke objects. www.dustdigital.co.uk

Through this session participants will be encouraged to explore the connections and separations between their personal and professional worlds. In doing so, they will unpick some of the knots in order to retie them in more constructive and beautiful ways. The workshop will be facilitated by Jo Buffery, who has a wealth of experience in supporting reflective artistic practice (www.artsandlearning.org.uk). Jo will introduce a series of questions and creative tasks to help participants frame their exploration. Through working in a supportive group setting, individuals will come away with greater clarity about how their own personal and professional lives weave together most beneficially with a unique series of twists and loops to create an intricately patterned and yet resilient web.
